Adorned Nails: SpaRitual Gold Digger

Warning: Strong, gaudy colours ahead, but I have good reason for it.

I love SpaRitual polishes and it's a pity that I don't feature them here often enough. I haven't got many of them. This one, Gold Digger, is the last one in my stash. Gold Digger is a beigy gold shimmer polish, but on the nails, it takes on more of a yellow tint (or perhaps that's just how it looks against my skintone).

It was opaque in two coats and as with all the other SpaRitual polishes I've tried, this one applied like a dream. That's why I love this brand!

All right, now for the gaudy part. I thought I'd do a festive-appropriate manicure for the Chinese Lunar New Year. The additional things used were:

Red polish - Alessandro Stiletto Nail Polish No. 21
Stamped design - Essence Nail Art Stampy Design Plate 01 Have Fun

Chinese New Year would not be complete without gold and red to symbolise prosperity. I've added the "fook" character to it. "Fook" is so rich in meaning that it's hard to define in just a couple of words. It encompasses god's blessings, good health, good luck, good fortune and so much more. Well, it basically refers to all things good and auspicious, and that is what I wish all of you who are ushering in the Year of the Rabbit.

Happy Chinese New Year!!

How stunning is that mani???!!!

I love the contrast and art work. You must have a mighty steady hand missy! x jeanie

How would you compare Sparitual polishes to say OPI or Zoya?

@Adorable On Your Vanity
Thank you, Shivani! You're so kind to say that. :) Oh, I love the fabulous, vibrant colours in the Indian culture. They are never dull. I always feel happy when I see the bright colours. :D

@makeup merriment
Thanks, Jeanie. And no, I certainly do not have a steady hand (I'm always complaining about how shakey my hands are!). The red, I managed to do it in two quick strokes for each nail. The Chinese character, well, I took the easy way out by stamping with the said Essence plate. :D My experience with OPI is nil (truth: my OPIs are lying neglected and untouched in the drawer!). My experience with Zoya is limited but what I've tried has been very impressive. I'd put SpaRitual somewhere there with Zoya. :)

@Anni

Happy Chinese New Year to you, Witoxicity!

I have the same idea of doing a red and gold nails for CNY too. But somehow didn't come to do it. Just couldn't find the time. ;) May be I should do it one of these days...

And CNY away from home is just not the same. Yes, I am here again. :) But just had an open house for friends yesterday....and at least, it felt a bit like at home again....

May you have a wonderful year ahead. :)

@Vonvon
Happy New Year, Vonvon! Oh, you're back in this neck of the woods! I understand, the CNY atmosphere just isn't the same here, but we make do with what we can, I suppose. That open house was indeed a great way to bring in the festive spirit. :)
