Adorned Nails: Catrice In The Bronx

I get more and more impressed with each new Catrice nail polish that I wear.

I've said it before and I will say it again: Catrice nail polishes come in 10ml bottles and they retail for €2.49 each (sometimes even less, when they are on special offer). You do get good value for your money. I take my hat off to Cosnova (which also owns Essence) for having done such a great job of revamping Catrice's collection (and brand image) last year. What used to be plain, staid and neglected is now oh-so-cool and much desired, especially its nail polishes.

The one I'm featuring here is gorgeous but I doubt it is unique though. It's a bronze foil. I wouldn't be surprised if you think this looks like a polish you have from other brands. As for me, In The Bronx reminds me of KOH Bronzation, minus the flakies.

Two coats would suffice. I did three coats here to get a deeper, darker shade of bronze. There was nothing unusual during or after application. Drying time was not an issue and durability was average. Basically, everything went smoothly.

Here's In The Bronx with my bronze singing bowl (again!).

  6. I love how this looks on you. It's gorgeous! I wish it was easier for those of us in the States to get Catrice. There are so many nice colors! Your Catrice posts always leave me with such lemmings. :P

    Thank you, Liz. Lemmings? Oh, that makes me one bad girl! :P Anyway, I do hope Catrice will expand its market reach. They must realise how much their nail polishes are desired all around the world. :)

  9. Ooh! Good to see that's how it looks! I bought it a while ago but hadn't used it yet, wondering how it looked like on it's own (had seen it layered with that darker sparitual polish in one of your older posts). It's pretty, but it seems like the colour would look slightly weird on my hands if used all alone :p.

    (Obviously, this means I need to think of awesome skittle manis for in the future because, by Jove I'm going to make this colour work :p!)

    Yup and as Toyomi said, it will probably look nice against tanned skin. :)

    @Amanda
    I'm pleased you like this. Thanks, Amanda. :)

    @Adis
    Yeah, you can layer this under or over other polishes, so I'm sure it will work out for you one way or another. :D However, I think you should try this at least once on its own to see how it looks on you. You never know. (Hee hee, you could also try some kind of glam colour blocking with this.) :)

    @Michelle
    I'm glad to hear that, Michelle. :)

    Well, it doesn't look too bad either away from sunlight, it's like tanned gold. :)

  16. Ah you actually bought this one, it looks nicer than I thought. During the buy one/get one free sale in Kruitvat I had this one several times in my basket and then put it back. It looked so nice in the bottle, but bronze... I don't need to explain to you why I could never wear it.
    Hope you are doing well, big hug!

    To be honest, I wasn't very enthousiastic about this one at first. To me, it didn't look too exciting in the bottle. It took me many visits to the Kruidvat before I finally decided to give it a chance. :D I like it on the nails, so no regrets!

    I'm doing fine, thank you, my dear! I hope you are too and enjoying the fickle Dutch summer (translation: intermittent tropical storms) as best you can. ;D
