Vanity in the Dark: GOSH Light'N Shine Lip Glaze

Super glossy lips and I haven’t even turned on the lights! And if you’re wondering.....no, this isn’t with flash photography.

Illuminating Product No. 2
GOSH Light’N Shine Lip Glaze
Shade: 02 Pink
Volume and Price: 6ml / 0.2 US fl oz for €7.99

I like this lip gloss. It’s very pigmented and, as you can see, the gloss factor has been cranked up to the max. Sensuous, dare I say? GOSH calls it “High Shine” and they really aren’t kidding! You can actually see the tiny specks of glitter in the gloss as well.

It smells slightly sweet and it leaves a pleasant jelly texture on the lips. Well, at least for me it was pleasant. It’s a tiny bit sticky, but nothing annoying. It wears off after a couple of hours, so re-application would be necessary, unless you’re fine with the by-then dulled gloss.

What I love most is this shade that I’ve chosen. It’s a shade that makes a statement, what I would call a cross between fuschia and red.

Of course, there are the lights that come on when you twist open the handle. Better still, there is a mirror on the side of the tube too. Now you have every excuse to indulge in your vanity in the dark!

Sharing the Fun
Ah yes, I’m sharing the fun with these two products featured under the Vanity in the Dark posts. The other product – Etos All in One Party Colour Kit – was featured in a separate post, just before this one. I went back to the stores to get another set of these products and will be giving them away to one lucky lady. This is open to all who are following my journey (as seen on Google Friend Connect), so, of course, it’s open internationally!

If you are following my journey privately, I respect your wish for privacy.

To participate in Sharing the Fun, I present you with two options:

Option 1
Please leave a relevant comment under this post and a relevant comment under the previous post, Vanity in the Dark: Etos All in One Party Colour Kit. It would only be fair to give you two entries for your extra effort.

Option 2
You may leave a relevant comment under one of the two Vanity in the Dark posts but this will give you only one entry.

The choice is yours. If you have already commented on the previous Vanity in the Dark post, then you would have already chalked up one entry! Me, sneaky? Nooo!

Comment like how you normally would if there wasn’t a giveaway but please, relevant comments only. Comments about, say, the horrendous weather in the North Pool will not be taken into consideration. Please let me know via email if you’re unclear about anything.

You have until Saturday 9th January 2010 11.59pm (Central European Time) to leave your comment(s). One winner will be chosen randomly by the Mummy Number Generator and I will announce the winner sometime on Sunday 10th January which also happens to be my Mum’s birthday!

If you’re befuddled and are wondering what a Mummy Number Generator is or why I’m doing this, then perhaps you missed my Sharing the Fun, Sharing the Love post. And if you have only just joined me on my journey of beauty awakening, I bid you welcome!

Right, enough said! Good luck, my lovely companions!

  1. (This is related to my other comment.) Is there a power switch on this one, like on the compact? Now that I'm thinking of it I'm guessing that with LED lights you probably will run out of gloss before you run out of battery juice but I'm curious if you have the choice to turn it off. The LED lighting might misguide you, you know since you're supposed to apply makeup in the lighting you'll be seen in. LED light is a little blueish right? o_O

  4. I had no idea Gosh had a gimmicky product like this! I really like the idea of a mirror on the side of a tube. Hope they have this among the GOSH products my local drugstore carries.

    No, there isn't a special switch. The lights are automatically turned on when you twist open the handle to apply the lip gloss, and vice versa when you place it back. I haven't an idea how long its battery life is.

    The LED lights are slightly blue-ish :)

    @The Diva's Polish
    Ha ha! Yeah, incorporating a mirror and the lights is certainly a great idea for a lip product. All in one tube - so handy and no more guessing where your lips begin and end! :D

    @Mz. More
    I believe there are a total of six shades available for Light'N Shine. The other shades range from white/colourless to some lighter pinks.

    @Babybubblz
    Good luck! I hope it's also available where you are! :)

    @Gail
    Oh yes, this lip gloss is very very shiny. The LED lights only add to the already glossy gloss. Ha ha!

    @Dina
    This colour is the darkest of the six available shades. Yes, it's definitely pigment-rich. :)

    @tris1978ton
    Ha ha, glossy and luscious only because of GOSH! It's a wonder what an amazing over-the-top lip gloss can do to one's lips. :D

    @em
    You're right! And it would be great for a night out (hence the lights and the mirror). :D

    @Cynthia
    Lights and makeup certainly go well together! Gimmicky or not, you must admit it's handy.

    When I saw this shade at the store, I knew I had to have it. This shade packs a punch! :D

  21. Catching up with my blog reading hehe. The lip colour looks fantastic on your lips! I can only wear light colours as I don't think darker shades suit me as well.
    I read your answer back to a comment about having no switch?? So does that mean it's on the entire time?!! The gloss is quite useful since it has lights and a mirror!
    I sometimes find myself rummaging around for a mirror! So this gloss is great!

  22. the gloss is gorgeous!

  23. oh wow you're right! actually i like a jelly texture lipgloss i find they are shinier..^^

  24. @Natalie
    Thanks! Regarding your question on the lights, they come on automatically when you unscrew the handle to open the tube. The lights then switch off when you twist the handle back into the lipgloss tube. So, no, the lights don't stay on the whole time. :)

    @Linda
    Thank you. The glossiness of this lip glaze has certainly blown me away! :)

    @hitomi
    The jelly texture does take some getting used to at the beginning but oh well, anything for super shiny lips, eh? :D

  25. that's indeed glossy! and the light and mirror only makes it better!

  27. @Crystal
    Ha ha! You're right. The light and mirror only adds to the glam and shine! :D

    @Shifa
    I know what you mean! I used to shun lipglosses of darker shades too. Well, never say never! :D
