Adorned Nails: Catrice Rusty But Sexy

This is one of the polishes that Catrice released recently under the Modern Muse Collection. There are altogether five polishes in the collection but one isn't new, strangely. Catrice plucked it from the permanent collection and it's one that you've seen before - In The Bronx.

Rusty But Sexy is a gorgeous burnt orange. Catrice sees it as rusty, which isn't that inaccurate either.

Honestly, I haven't got anything bad to say about it. Really, I don't. It applied well and one coat can be all right (the photos that I've shown on Witoxichic are with one coat of Rusty But Sexy).

For these close-up photos though, I have two coats on. I've been wearing this polish for six days. There is tip wear for sure and some chipping but nothing major, given the time frame.

  2. I love the color, but I agree; I definitely don't see it as "rusty." To me, it's how you described it, a burnt orange. Anyway gorgeous color!

    Hey, why not?! It's not a full-blown in-your-face orange. I think the burnt and bronzy look would work fine on you. :)

    @Noniek
    Thanks, Noniek. :)

  15. I'm not so sure. I'm afraid I'm going to look more yellow than I am :p. (Durnit yellowy pasty skintone :x!) But maybe I could use it in a skittles manicure :D! It'll tone down somewhat with a few more colours :3.

    (Also, KOH has their own dry drip drops thingie out, in case you didn't know yet :D! And they work too :o!)

    I'm glad you like it, Toyomi. :)

    @Adis
    But but but you couldn't be more yellow-toned than me! All right, skittles it is, then. :D

    Thanks for the heads-up! I haven't seen it in the stores yet. :)

    @Cynthia
    Thanks! :) The bangle is worn over at Witoxichic.

  18. Oh, you'd be surprised :x. I don't look quite so yellow on pictures though, but that's because of the lighting :p (hurray for corrective light! 8D!)

    (I'm also recommending you give Black Stars! by KOH a look :p. It's a black, sheer polish with fine gold (I think :x looks silver sometimes) glitter, slightly larger holographic glitter particles and red-goldenyellow-green flakies :D! You need at least 3 coats to get it opaque, 4 if you want it to look extra nice, but the 4th coat is really worth the effort :3. It kinda reminds me of a muted black opal when there is some sunlight :D.)

    Yeah, I've seen Black Stars in the stores. Wait. I meeean, I've oggled at Black Stars many times. It's been on my to-buy list for a long time but I've been restraining - waiting for a happy ocassion to treat myself with that. Four coats? Gotta pile on the glitters/flakies for full impact, eh? :D

  20. Oh, you're so cruel to yourself XD! Totally admiring your oodles of willpower to stave off the (inevitable) purchase!

    Yup, of course we'll pile it on :p! I mean, it's a pretty polish, it deserves to be in the spotlight :D! I made some pictures, but they're crappy and don't do the polish any justice :/. I'll try to take a good one when there is more sun and then you'll see how pretty it is :p.

  21. Beautiful color, very elegant too. It goes very well with the color of your ring and bangle, really stunning combo. It is a perfect match with your top too. Gotta love this one. "KTee"xx

  23. WOW! when I saw it in the bottle I did not like it, and now when I look at this post it seems gorgeous!!!

    I satisfy my nail polish crave by going for budget-friendly brands like Catrice. The quality's great and you get so many more times nail polishes for the price of one KOH. Anyway, I still have a few more KOHs in my drawer that I haven't worn. So, really, for now, I'd feel very guilty if I bought yet another one (unless there's a fantastic offer at Douglas or something). :D

    @KTee
    Thank you very much for your supportive words, my dear! I'm really happy you love the whole combo! What can I say, I couldn't help going matchy-matchy with some of the items there. ;D

    @lizzie
    I'm pleased this is to your taste, Lizzie. :)

    @Paulina
    Give it another look at the store, my dear. It's got more character than the average orange. :)
