Adorned Nails: Catrice Welcome To The Jungle

I wore this for a good six days with only a bit of chipping from the fourth day. That's not bad at all (I have two coats on here, no top coat). Another pat on the back, Catrice!

Welcome To The Jungle, a dark brass/khaki green fine shimmer polish. It's from Catrice's urban jungle-/Amazon-themed Limited Edition Papagena collection that has been in the stores here for a couple of months already (and still is). There were four polish shades released in this collection but Welcome To The Jungle was the only one I bought. I think this shade was in general the most popular of the four, judging from what's left on the display rack.

I've been wearing it on my toes too for the past two weeks and that's how much I love this broody jungly polish!

  2. Ooh, I've been wearing this beauty last week! The color is absolutely beautiful, just what I'm into now <3
    However - and I'm glad (and actually really surprised) it lasts so well on you! - I have gel nails so everything kinda lasts better, but with this one had actually tipwear within less than two days. I also found it to dry really slowly (again, a problem that usually doesn't occur on gel I find).. weird. :/
    So for some reason I'm really not sure about the quality in my case, but it's an awesome shade again!

  5. I got this one too :D! It's really a lovely colour. I wish I could've gotten Enter the undergrowth as well as I really liked the swatches I saw, but they were already out of that particular colour :(. Oh well :x.

  9. It's such a pretty polish!
    By the time I made it to Kruidvat they didn't have it anymore. :( Too bad I missed it.

    I'm pleased you like this one. Thanks! :)

    @2espresso
    Hi, 2espresso! Haha, what a coincidence that you were wearing it last week too! :D Yeah, it's strange that it didn't last as long on your nails. I haven't got any experience with gel nails, so I can't make a comparison. In general, the Catrice polishes that I've had on were fairly durable (chipping usually starts on the third day). There was one though that didn't go down too well but that was only because I was in a hurry and didn't give it enough time to dry properly. Well, all that just goes to show that experience can vary from one person to another (or from one bottle to another!). This shade is broodily gorgeous and I'm glad you agree! :)

    Obrigada! I hope you'll have a lovely week! :)

    @Adis
    There were hardly any left by the time I got to a Kruidvat store - kept seeing only Bird of Paradise, which I resisted buying. I consider myself quite lucky that I managed to get this one in the end! Well, it's great that you scored this one too! Never mind that you couldn't get the other one. You and I know that there'll be many more new polishes to come in nail polish land. :D

    @KTee
    Thanks so much, KTee! And yes, it's quite an unusual shade. :)

    @ChinaDoll
    I totally agree, ChinaDoll! :)

    @Raey
    Hi, Raey! I'm glad it's to your liking. :)

    @Serafine
    Oh, I'm so sorry it sold out so soon at your Kruidvat, Serafine! Well, I think it's just a matter of time before we spot a dupe of Welcome To The Jungle by another brand. That's bound to happen at some point. :)

  14. Haha :D! I actually grabbed Birds of paradise too because I felt sorry for myself since Enter the undergrowth was gone XD.
    Also didn't have a colour like it, so it wasn't like I was buying a dupe :p.

    Really wish they'd get more in the store D:! Limited editions sell out so fast it's not even funny :(. But I guess I'll find a nice dupe eventually, what with all the colours everyone is churning out ;).

    I'm glad you like it, Sharon. Thanks. :)

    I hear you! Sometimes, I think they (Kruidvat or Cosnova or both?) purposely restrict supply to artificially jack up demand, which in turn, leaves many frustrated nail polish lovers hankering (can you say 'drool'?) for more. It's probably pure marketing strategy. I agree, it's certainly not funny anymore but hey, I've found that it helps to do this: step back and take a deep breath. If we can't score this one, there'll be others to come. I'm getting tired of chasing. :)
