Adorned Nails: SpaRitual Drop Dead Gorgeous

Yes, it is. It’s drop dead gorgeous, this one.

Despite the name, I didn't see this coming. I expected only a gaudy dark magenta nail polish with some plain shimmers. But [gasp] take a closer look at this polish. Check out the purple tones which seem to come from the magenta shade itself, or is it from the shimmers? Have. Trouble. Breathing.

The following two photos were with flash photography. All the rest were taken in daylight.

Shown here are with two coats of Drop Dead Gorgeous. I love the formula for this one. It was pure pleasure polishing my nails with it. Drying time took about three minutes per coat.

Since this isn’t a wallflower colour, I thought I won’t be shy either with the stamping: it’s a bold and beautifully elaborate design from the Fauxnad image plate B101 from Chez Delaney. I have no idea if the design means anything, so if anyone recognises it, please let me know. For stamping, I used my favourite silver nail polish from Catrice called Silver Moon (it’s from their old collection). No top coat was used.

I could have gone further with little rhinestones, but I haven’t got any. Well, I don’t think I’m ready yet to go 3-D anyway. I’m still revelling in my little 2-D world.

Oh, I’m still having trouble breathing!

Drop dead gorgeous indeed. It resemble OPI "Kinky in Helsinki", maybe a bit darker. I wonder how close they are.

When a formula is great and that polishing feels pleasurable (am I the only one to feel pleasure while polishing my nails with a polish that seem to apply by itself?), I have the bad habit to add an extra coat that I don't even need. I can't help it.

PS. What is this pink and grey wooly fabric you're holding? I love the blend of colors so much. :o

I love SpaRitual lacquers and their colors are mostly unique and fun (like this one). And you made an excellent stamping choice too.

This fuschia just POPS! It goes so well with the background you've chosen. Do you do your own nails or get manis? They always look so professionally done. =D I suck at doing my own so I'm always relying on someone else...lol.

@jellynat
You're right! It is rather like Kinky in Helsinki. I haven't got the OPI one, so I can't compare.

LOL @ "polish that seem to apply by itself". I think you'd get that feeling if your polishing skills are impeccable, like yours!

That fabric in the photos is actually a skirt that I bought last winter. I'm totally in love with the colour mix of this fabric too! :D

@Carine
Thanks! Do give nail art stamping a try. It adds a fun dimension to having colours on nails. :)

@Dreams That Glitter
Thanks, Georgie. The colour's indeed gorgeous. :)

@Lacquer Ware for Tips and Toes
Thank you! SpaRitual does make awesome lacquers but I think they should widen their shade choices even more. I can't seem to have enough of them! :D

@Dina
I'm glad you love this! :)

@Shop N' Chomp
Yup, the colour certainly pops! :D Gosh, you're very kind to say that. Yes, I do my own nails but I'm no professional. I'm just a normal person who likes to paint her nails, and the trick is to clean up afterward. :)

@tris1978ton
Vibrant is indeed a good description for this shade! :)

Such a pretty colour; and the design is just the icing on the cake. I really need to try the SpaRitual polishes; I've only tried the treatment products.

@Lavender
Thanks! I'm pleased you approve of the choices I made for this mani. :)

@Naomi
Oh, do give the SpaRitual polishes a go. I haven't been disappointed so far with its quality. I, on the other hand, have never tried its body care products but I'm sure curious about them! :)

It's really interesting how adding a little stamp on the nails on top of colour makes it pop that much more. You fingers and nails look flawless too~!

@Natalie
That's very sweet of you to say that, Natalie. Yeah, stamping can certainly enhance the look of polished nails. :)
