ELLIS FAAS: Creamy Eyes E119

Here are the swatches for the new ELLIS FAAS Creamy Eyes E119 and an eye look using this yellow ochre.

To be honest, I'm not one who gravitates to yellow eyeshadows but then again, if I was game enough to try an acid green eyeshadow, I should at least give yellow a whirl.

Thankfully, E119 is a soft, earthy yellow.

For the eye look, I've used E119 as more of a base/background shade, combining it with a dark rust orange and a dark brown for a kind of vertical gradient. I used:

Creamy Eyes E119 - yellow ochre
Milky Eyes E207 - dark rust orange
Creamy Eyes E104 - dark brown
GOSH Velvet Touch Eye Liner - Truly Brown (tightlining)
Mascara E401 - black
These are a mixture of pens provided by ELLIS FAAS and from my own purchase.

Basically, it's the yellow ochre high on the lid, the rust orange on the moving lid and the dark brown for wing-ed eyelining. For the bottom lid, I've applied a touch of yellow ochre and then did a mirrored wing eyelining with the dark brown to elongate the eyes.

ELLIS FAAS: Creamy Eyes E115

Creamy Eyes E115 is another shade from the set of seven new ELLIS FAAS Creamy Eyes eyeshadows released last week.

E115 is a matt medium purple. It's old news that the Creamy Eyes liquid eyeshadows are cast-iron lasting but if you're new to this range, please refer to my detailed ELLIS FAAS Creamy Eyes review.

For the eye look in this post, I used:

Milky Eyes E203 - dark blue
Creamy Eyes E106 - matte taupe
Creamy Eyes E115 - matte medium purple
GOSH Velvet Touch Eye Liner - Black Ink (tightlining)
Mascara E401 - black

The very lightly applied taupe of E203 served as a base for the medium purple of E115 and I used the dark blue of E203 for eyelining.

ELLIS FAAS: Creamy Eyes E114

In case you haven't heard, ELLIS FAAS is now seven Creamy Eyes eyeshadows richer. Well, isn't that nice?

The brand launched this new set of colours last weekend. Just like the existing Creamy Eyes range (E103 - E109), these new ones are liquid eyeshadows and run in the E11x series. This new set is certainly more colourful than the previous seven and it consists of:

E113 - navy blue
E114 - bordeaux red
E115 - purple
E116 - lilac
E117 - mint green
E118 - light blue
E119 - yellow ochre

The good folks at ELLIS FAAS kindly sent over a couple of colours and in this post, we take a quick look at Creamy Eyes E114, a magnificent, rich, intense, gorgeous, splendiferous burgundy. But then again, burgundy is one of my favourite colours (the other being purple), so, ummm, I could be biased here.

You should know by now that the Creamy Eyes eyeshadows are waterproof and they don't crease. Put simply, they stay put until it's time to take them off. The darker shades make great eyeliners too.

ELLIS FAAS: Spring Set 2012 - A Closer Look

As mentioned the other day, ELLIS FAAS has come up with the Spring Set for 2012. The set consists of:

Milky Lips L207 - nudish, a cross between dusty rose and coral brown
Light E304 - metallic lilac
Creamy Eyes E106 - matte light brown/lilac, taupe

Eyes
The two eye products make a great combo, in my opinion. The taupe of E106 is subdued, neutral but certainly not uninteresting. Light E304 is a gorgeous eyecatcher but if you think it's too much, then apply just a thin layer or only on a small section of the eyelid.

I like combining this pair with the very handy matte dark brown of Creamy Eyes E104. Looking through my archive of ELLIS FAAS Eye Looks, I see that I have done this trio combination twice before.

I decided to give this whole combination another go and the following is what I have come up with.


ELLIS FAAS: Eye Look With Light XVII

The items used for this look were:

Light E304, Creamy Eyes E106, Creamy Eyes E104 - all heavily swatched

This look is less smokey than the two other eye looks with this same colour scheme.

Upper lid
1. Applied with finger the taupe of E106 on (almost) the whole lid, using another (clean) finger to fade out the edges.
2. Lightly dabbed on the metallic Light E304 right across the moving lid.
3. With an eyeliner brush, lined the upper lash line with the brown of E104.
4. Tightlined with the black eyeliner pencil.

Lower lid
5. Applied directly with the brush applicator the taupe on the outer two-thirds of the lower lash line.

6. Curled lashes and applied two coats of mascara.

ELLIS FAAS: Milky Lips L207

This is a little feature on the ELLIS FAAS Milky Lips L207, which is one of the three pens packaged in the brand's latest Spring Set 2012.

I've loved the ELLIS FAAS lip products since Day One (come to think of it, it's been a good two-and-a-half years). I have a certain weakness for the Creamy Lips and the Milky Lips range (for those new to this brand: there is a third lip range called Glazed Lips). The velvety smooth texture always makes 'painting' colour on the lips an enjoyable and.....almost therapeutic experience. No, no, not exaggerating. Just stating the truth. And what's even better about them is that they are very moisturising.

The Milky Lips L207 is described by ELLIS FAAS as a juicy nude pink. Since receiving the Spring Set from the good folks at ELLIS FAAS last week, I've been pondering on the shade. Yes, it's a nudish shade. I've decided that it's a curious cross between a dusty rose and a light coral brown.

It's quite close to my natural lip colour, L207 is just a tinge more coral brown. I suppose I could call it my-lips-but-better. Hmmm, if Milky Lips L201 were a social butterfly, then L207 would be a wallflower, I think.

ELLIS FAAS: Light Swatches

I think it's time to feature the swatches of all five ELLIS FAAS Light - E301, E302, E303, E304, E305 - in one post. So far, I've shown only random swatches of four of them whenever I did an ELLIS FAAS eye look which included a Light.

Here's a recap:

• housed in click-pens
• dispensed through brush applicators
• highly pigmented metallic liquid eyeshadows, like having a layer of metallic paint on the eyes
• when dried, they feel a bit rough/sandy to the touch
• lightweight, non-sticky
• not waterproof
• with repeated rubbing, they will come off
• leave them alone and they will stay intact
• apply with finger - easier to control and is better for light application
• apply with brush applicator - for full-on heavy application

Colour description of the Lights:

E301 - warm silver, metallic beige
E302 - green-gold, metallic chartreuse
E303 - bronze
E304 - metallic lilac / medium purple
E305 - metallic turqoise-burgundy duochrome

ELLIS FAAS: Eye Look With Light XVI

The ELLIS FAAS Light E302 - you could call it a green-gold or a metallic chartreuse. I figured it would go well with the khaki brown of Milky Eyes E205, so this is what I came up with:

Products used:

L-R
Light E302 - metallic chartreuse
Milky Eyes E205 - khaki brown
Milky Eyes E203 - dark blue
Mascara E401 - black
Note: These pens were provided by ELLIS FAAS.

This is what I did:

Upper lid
1. Applied with finger the khaki brown of E205 on the whole lid.
2. Dabbed on the metallic chartreuse E302 on the moving lid.
3. With an angled eyeliner brush, lined the upper lashline with the blue of E203.
4. Tightlined with a black eyeliner pencil (I used the Teeez Bold Eyeliner Pencil Sexy 12).

Lower lashline
5. Lined the lower lashline with the same blue. Smudged it out.
6. Applied black eyeliner (pencil) on waterline.

7. Applied two coats of mascara.

ELLIS FAAS: Winter Set 2011 - A Closer Look

ELLIS FAAS seems to love putting together different pen combinations, packaging them into sets of three for each season and offering them at a lower price than what you'd normally pay for the individual pens. It's definitely a good deal for current users looking to replace their used-up pens. I'd recommend it too to those who are just starting out with ELLIS FAAS BUT you'd have to like the combination(s) presented.

This time around, the ELLIS FAAS Winter Set 2011 consists of the following:

Milky Eyes E209

E209 is a light skin-coloured eyeshadow with yellow/golden tones and very, very subtle shimmer (it's not noticeable in the photos here). Applied on my eyes, the Milky Eyes E209 almost disappears from sight. The shade is very close to my skin tone but fortunately, you can still see the swatch on my arm.

Creamy Eyes E103
E103 is a matte black eyeshadow. ELLIS FAAS says to use it to create an easy smoky eye and/or to be used as a black liner. I've mentioned this before, but I think it's worth saying it again. For eyelining, while I do use the ELLIS FAAS Eyeliner E501, I actually prefer using the E103 to the Eyeliner. That's mainly because the E103 eyeshadow is cast-iron lasting (smudge-proof, waterproof) while the E501 eyeliner is not waterproof.

Milky Lips L201

It's a lightweight blood-red liquid lip colour. Full details can be found in my feature on the Milky Lips L201.


ELLIS FAAS: Eye Look XV

I did a simple eye look with these two eyeshadows. I've use the E209 on the inner half of my eyes and the E103 on the outer half for a smokey look. I used my fingers to apply and fade out these two eyeshadows. With an angled eyeliner brush, I lined the eyes with the black E103. The look is completed with two coats of the black ELLIS FAAS Mascara E401.

The Winter Set 2011 retails for €60 / £55 / USD85. That's a savings of €17 / £13 / USD22 compared to the total price of the individual pens.
