Inglot: AMC and Matte Eye Shadow Review

These are the four eyeshadows that I bought from Inglot to fill the four-pan Freedom System Eye Shadow Palette. Two are medium shades that have some shimmer and two are dark with a matte finish. The eyeshadow colour range at Inglot is amazing, so what I have here is but a very humble proportion of what is available.

Here's a reminder of what the palette looks like:

You've probably heard of the reputation of Inglot eyeshadows: smooth, highly pigmented and very easy to blend. Agreed, agreed and agreed.

The two medium shades belong in the AMC Eye Shadow category. I believe AMC stands for Advanced Makeup Components and there are also other Inglot products like lipglosses and foundations which bear the AMC badge. These products are said to perform better and are more durable due to the supposely more advanced ingredients/technology used.

AMC Eye Shadow

Ingredients (please click to enlarge)

AMC Eye Shadow 68 - intense cornflower blue with shimmer

AMC Eye Shadow 56 - chartreuse khaki green with shimmer

These two AMC Eye Shadows here are satin-y. I thought they didn't cling on to the skin so well and they were rather on the sheer side. The result was of course better with an eyeshadow base. Swatches are three swipes from the pan and three/four swipes on the skin.

On bare skin

With eyeshadow primer

Applied wet

Eye Shadow Matte

Ingredients (please click to enlarge)

Eye Shadow Matte 332 - matte dull navy blue

Eye Shadow Matte 340 - matte midnight green

The matte eyeshadows are super, super pigmented, creamy and a real joy to apply. The eyeshadows stay really well on the skin and fallout during application was minimal. Swatches are one/two swipes from the pan and three swipes on the skin.

On bare skin

With eyeshadow primer

Applied wet

The eyeshadows don't crumble too badly in the pan.

As mentioned in an earlier post, the price of a four-pan (filled) eyeshadow palette is €26. The prices of loose eyeshadow pans vary depending on the type of eyeshadow but averagely, they are around €6 each.

Overall, these eyeshadows are good value for your money. I'm not overly impressed with the AMC ones though, considering that they have "Advanced Makeup Components". They are just O-K. Then again, I've tried only these two.

It's a different story with the mattes: I absolutely love them! The colour payoff is fantastic, the intensity is buildable without resulting in cakiness and they are velvet smooth and creamy.

Here's an eye look using the two blue shades (the white bits that you see are the shimmer particles). Details for this look to follow soon.

I live in Iowa so I am no where near an Inglot store, but I'm hoping to be able to visit one in Europe this summer!

I love Inglot eyeshadows. I've got lots of colours but still feel it's not enough :-). Seriously, Inglot is addictive.

I was hoping the AMC ones would have great colour pay-off judging from the intensity of the colour on the pan.

Though I am not really into matte shades, I love both that you got. And I have come to realise recently that matte can be layered over shadows of other finishes to sort of 'tone down'...say a too shimmery or frosty finish.

Love the smokey blue eye look.

Holy cats, your EOTD looks stunning! I am dying to try this brand. I just get overwhelmed when I go to the web site and all the colors start spinning together over my head. Great swatches, thanks.

Aww, shame to hear the AMC ones are unimpressive :(. Hmm, I'm just thinking, maybe it's just the top layer that is blah? I can't remember where, but I came across a blog entry about an eyeshadow (I think it was from Inglot too? Not too sure, I can only remember it was a blue eyeshadow) that had crap pigmentation on the top-most layer, but was pretty epic once you got through the blah top layer :/.

Don't give up on them just yet :)?

But the regular matte ones... Whoa :o! That's a lot of colour :o! I need to remember the green one as I don't have that type of green yet :D.

But you don't have to wait till you're here in Europe. Inglot USA has an online store which you can access through the Inglot website. :)

@Atqa
Haha, thanks for the warning! You're right, one would tend to get more and more of these as the colours and quality in general are fantastic. :)

@Vonvon
Well, we are talking about only these two eyeshadows and the same may not necessarily apply to the other AMC ones. Besides, as Adis mentioned in her comment, perhaps I need to get deeper into the pan and see if the pigmentation would improve.

Matte layered over shimmer would be great to get that subdued shimmer look but with these Inglot mattes, I'd say go very easy with the brush/applicator/finger. The slightest touch would give you loads of pigmentation! :)

@Toyomi
Yes, they are, Toyomi. They're worth the money spent. :)

@Zuzu's Petals
Thank you, Zuzu. I hear you! I got overwhelmed too when I was in the store, staring at all the eyeshadows. Which colour group, what texture, how many, how to match, do I already have this shade at home........the sales assistant was thankfully very patient with me. :D

@Adis
Thanks for the tip about the top layer. I've used it a number of times and it has always been 'meh'. I'll let nature take its course (ie. not deliberately scrape the eyeshadow out just to get to the layers underneath to test this theory) and see how it goes. The thing is, now that you mention it, I didn't notice anything inferior about the pigmentation when the sales assistant and I were swatching away in the store. So, hmmmm, you could be right. But yes, oh, the mattes are consistently awesome! :D

@Shop N' Chomp
Thanks! :)

@Paulina
Thank you. :)

I love the elegant sleek looking palette and the colors in it. I am glad to hear they are good value for money, gotta get myself some mattes.

Great post and I am looking forward to see your eye looks. Take care, Nicole x

@Michelle
A lot of hype indeed but at least, these, especially the mattes, don't disappoint. :)

@Nicole
Getting the loose-pan eyeshadows with the Freedom System palette is definitely more economical than buying the mono eyeshadows. Yes, do have a look at the mattes. Now, I wish I had gotten more of those. Heh heh!

Have a great weekend, Nicole! :)

When I'm at Inglot, I feel like a kid in a sweetshop! There's so much option! Have you ever tried their duo chrome pigments? They are amazing

Maybe it is a humble proportion of what is available at Inglots, but I love the colors in your palette. "KTee"xx

I know exactly what you mean! So many colours, so many choices, you'd just want to get everything! No, I've never tried their duochrome pigments. They sound very enticing, I must say. Thanks for the recommendation. :)

@KTee
I'm pleased you like my choices, my dear. Oh, there were so many more that I had to leave behind. Haha!
