Adorned Nails: Pieces Soul Petrol

After an entire week of having white polish on my nails, I was hankering for something dark for a change. This is more me, really.

I've been wearing Soul Petrol from Pieces these past couple of days. Pieces is a Danish brand of fashion accessories and is the sister brand of clothing stores, Vero Moda and ONLY. Of course, just like many other fashion brands, Pieces couldn't resist jumping on the bandwagon offering nail polishes in its range about half a year ago.

Its nail polishes are affordably priced: €2.95 a piece (10ml) or €6.95 for three. It was very tempting to grab three bottles at one go, but unfortunately, its selection of colours was rather small, I thought (and different stores, including Vero Moda, seem to stock different small selections). So, I was a good girl and bought just this one.

Soul Petrol is an unasuming dark blue-green with a crème finish. I have on two coats here. The polish applied normally but I thought the brush was rather short. What really irked me was the disproportionately HUGE angular bottle cap. It just didn't feel ergonomically right when applying the polish, sometimes obstructing my view of the nails even.

Also, the cap doesn't align properly with the bottle. It could be just this one bottle with this problem (and yours truly had to be the one to choose it!) or does this always happen with angular bottles? Well, in the store, they were all deceivingly properly aligned.

It's Day 3 today and there's chipping already. I know, I know, I hear you screaming, "Top coat, woman, top coat!!"........but I just never listen, do I?

Day 3 - In the shade

More information: Pieces website (which strangely features its fashion accessories but not its nail polish range)

What a beautiful colour! I understand you with the cap problems, these kind of little details bother me so much :-) And three days whithout chipping is not very much... By the way, I have been thinking of you because two weeks ago I went to a Beauty Party (I'm about post it in the blog) and I tried a new manicure technology (I don't know if I can call that technology) called "Shellac". It lasts forever withouth chipping, the colour stays vibrant and super shiny. Yesterday, I have the first sign of chipping, two weeks after. I have to take pictures so that you can see how pretty the nails look for so long. Kisses!!!

I always like to try the long lasting of the nail polish by wearing no top coats, so it's not just you :D
The colour is so pretty though!
