KOH Mediterranean Green, a polish resurrected from the dead. It's a considerably old purchase and I've worn it only once, while on holiday last year.
I gave it another go last week. I had it on for two days and then got curious about how it would look with KOH Green Stardust layered on it. This is what I got:
First, Mediterranean Green. I believe this polish was released beginning of last year under the Neon Colours Collection (Purplelicious and Neon Roze a.k.a. Pink Matters also belong to this collection). It's a plain crème. The type of green is pretty self-explanatory in the name and I've tried to present the colour as accurately as possible in these photos. I hope it comes out fine on your screens.
You may be satisfied with one thick coat. I could still see my nail line after one thick-ish coat, so I did two. I really like the formula for this polish - it was thick but it applied very well. I had not used this polish for more than a year and was quite surprised that it didn't deteriorate over the months into a thick, goopy green wall paint.
I applied one thin coat of KOH Green Stardust on Mediterranean Green and was very pleased with the result: a kind of darker, forest, leafy green with specks of silver and whimsical flakes of electric green.

I love the bright green of Mediterranean on it`s own...but sometimes a bright color as this can be dull or just plain borring :S Great idea to spice it up a bit with Stardust :) I`m very into layeriing colors atm
The green looks a bit like the green Teeez polish you showed a while back.
I think the green looks pretty on its own, but I really love the layering of the Green Stardust over the Med. Green! It really looks stunning my dear, I am loving the result. Can we call this one KOH Med. Stardust by Witoxicity? ;)
Maybe KOH should add this one to their already huge collection. Hug and take care my dear, Nicole x
Koh really has some great polishes. I wish they were more easily available in the US =(. Gorgeous photos as always!
I love this green. I haven't yet come across anything like that here in north america. although, i'm sure it exists, i just hven't come across it here.
wow looks so great with the other one over it 0.0
I love it!
@Martje
Hi, Martje! I haven't done much layering myself - just a couple - but it's certainly a fun way to give a plain polish a different look. I too like how Green Stardust adds character to the simple green. :)
@Nicole
Hey, Nicole! Yeah, it does remind one of Teeez Free. The green of Mediterranean Green is however a bit darker and more vivid. I'm pleased you like this layering. I must say, I like that name, KOH Mediterranean Stardust! :D Whether KOH would ever come up with a polish like this, that's left to be seen, and you and I know it. You take care too, my dear! [hug] :)
@Jello Kitty
Thank you very much for your encouraging words! I sure hope KOH will expand in the very near future. :)
@Shivani
Yes, I think so too. I'm sure there is a dupe for this. There are soooo many nail polish brands out there these days, so there's bound to be one with a green that looks like this. :)
@rock-or-not
Yay! I'm glad you love it! Thanks. :D
Neon Colours Collection? Sorry KOH, am I missing something? I see a beautiful green color, but I am trying hard to find a neon. According to me it's not bright enough to call it neon.
Anyways your pics are stunning as always and I am totally in love with your layering. It's such a beautiful green. Amazing. "KTee" xx
@KTee
Oh my gosh, this is so funny! My husband said the exact same thing yesterday, "Neon colours?!?". Hahaha! He didn't get it either. Well, the situation kinda reminds me of the Mood Tones Collection (the one that Playful belongs to) - I didn't get it either. :D
Anyway, thank you very much for your sweet words. I didn't expect it but the layering turned out very well with this one. It's another green for you to try! :) Take care, KTee. [hug] [still laughing about the neon thing]
Babe, thank you so much for your kind comments! :) Haha...Bourdain can be trusted. Just not all the time. And yes my toesies were done in red. ;P
As I've said before, you have the perfect hands and nails for NOTDs. The Green Stardust kicks this already gorgeous green up a notch!
Haha, I have this polish, too. It's such a pretty colour! I think Rimmel has/used to have a very similar colour. Don't you find it funny how we end up buying the same polishes over and over again? Oh well, great minds think alike :)
Omnomnomnom :3. That is really all I want to say about your choice of nailpolish :3.
(Also, it doesn't really look like a neon to me, more like a really bright jade. Not that it isn't pretty :D.)
@Shop N' Chomp
Thank you! :)
@Anni
Haha! That is funny! I still remember the first one that we had in common, KOH Flamingo, which I think is the coolest matte polish ever. Yes, yes, Anni, I would be inclined to think that great minds do think alike. :D
@Adis
Hee hee, that sounds like food and you're making me hungry. :D You're right. The colours in the Neon Colours Collection aren't really neons. They're just brrright shades. Oh well, some of their names in general don't make sense. :P
I love this green! I've been looking for a green this shade to go with my Vancouver Canucks mani! I've never heard of KOH. Where can you get it?
@kimmyl182
Hi, Kimmy! Ooh, that's cool, a mani in honour of your ice hockey team! :D KOH is a Dutch brand. If you'd like to see more of KOH, I'd suggest having a look at my Brand: KOH posts. I've also written an article for those who are interested in purchasing KOH through its online shop: Guidelines On Where To Buy KOH Nail Polish. I think you will find it useful. :)
I never heard this brand. I like the color after you layer it :)
@Noniek
Thanks, Noniek. The layering has certainly given the green an extra edge. :)
