Adorned Nails: Essence The Dawn Is Broken

I didn't want to get this polish initially - give me a dark shade anytime. However, curiosity got the better of me and so, here I am with The Dawn Is Broken, one of the five polishes belonging to the Essence Vampire's Love collection.

This polish bears some resemblance to KOH Playful. The Dawn Is Broken is a light grey crème with some spunk. At first, I thought it had just specks of silver micro glitters which also looked black sometimes, depending on how they caught the light. If you look closely though, they are actually specks of both silver and black.

It's not usually the case with such polishes, but The Dawn Is Broken feels a bit rough and gritty to the touch (you might notice the rough surface in the second photo). Application was a bit streaky but it was nothing too annoying. You're looking at three coats.

it looks great dear but i think i know what you mean regarding the texture and consistency. i have used similar nail polishes which were a pain to deal with. :/

The gritty surface and the color remind me on sand in which I played as a kid ;)

If one loves light grey this would be a lovely shade with little glitters. Plain grey is quite boring, at least to me it is.

I don't think this type of grey is a very popular color, however in this case it is part of a limited edition, so I think chances are better people will purchase it anyway. Take care, Nicole x

@나니
Yay! That's great! :D

@sugar sugar
I find it strange that the finish is gritty. Other polishes of this kind usually look and feel smooth. :)

@KTee
Me too, but we need some variety sometimes. :)

@MissDoll
Oh, that's a lovely, nostalgic description of this mani! How sweet! :)

@rock-or-not
You love light shades, I see. :)

@Nicole
Well, this bottle cost only €1.79 and so I thought it wouldn't hurt getting this ahade, even though it's not really my thing. For me, it's a nice enough polish but grey lovers would definitely go for this. :)

Another beautiful polish...
Oh how I wish I could find these around here...

Essence is already available in the US, so why won't they release their trend editions there too? That's such a pity. :( I'm sure they would sell well.

Hehe, so I'm not the only one who thought of Koh Playful when I encountered this colour ^^. I thought the specks looked navy though, but it could just be the weird lighting in my room :/. It's a lovely polish nevertheless, I'm happy I could liberate the last one in the display :p!

@BlackCherry
Hi, BlackCherry! If this is your favourite, then I hope you managed to get hold of this. The more I look at this polish, the more intriguing it is. :)

@Adis
Heh heh, navy or black, it's dark in any case. Yay, it's great that you scored this one! It would keep your KOH Playful company. :D

I bought just this polish and old buffy from this collection, but I haven't the grey one, yet, because a friend of mine bought for me, so I can't wait to receive it, especially after this pics. I like everything about this polish, even the roughness on the surface, it reminds me to granite kitchen worktop, don't you think? ;D
